This is a assembly of a coil of copper or alumnium tubing and fins inside the house heater unit that cools down for the furnance blower to send cold air to the living spaces.
Evaporator coils are used to turn a liquid substance in a gas by using evaporation. Typically these are found in HVAC systems.

Sensbile Heat & Latent Heat
Refrigerant flowing through the system. Focused on the expansion device at the start of the evaporator coil.
Sounds like the coil is dirty. Have it checked by a air conditioning company.
Inside the unit under the evaporator coil. The condensate drain line is attached to it.

Some units use orifice tubes and some units use thermostatic expansion valves to meter the refrigerant, but in either case it will be found between the condensation coil and the evaporator coil. Usually just before entering the evaporator coil.
The main parts of any mobile or stationary air conditioning system are the compressor, hoses/lines, expansion valve, evaporator coil, condenser coil and fans to move air through both coils. You also have various pressure, temperature, and on/off switches that controls the system. An air conditioning system is a fairly simple system.

On top of the air conditioning accumulator "can" located on the passenger side of the engine roughly 5 inches or so from the electric fan motor for your air conditioning evaporator coil/heater coil. It has a plastic dust cap covering the valve.
Inside the air handler. The evaporator is also commonly referred to as the a-coil.
