There are 5 essential doctrines of the Christian faith according to The Bible.

This simply means that these are the beliefs that one must hold to be considered a Christian...

1. The Deity of Christ - Jesus was God in the flesh (John 1:1,14)

2. Salvation by Grace - A person is saved by belief in Christ (Romans 10:9)

3. The Resurrection of Christ - Jesus rose from the grave (1 Corinthians 15:14,17)

4. The Gospel Message - The good news, which is that Jesus is God in the flesh, who died for the sins of the world, rose from the dead and gives eternal life to anyone who believes (Galatians 1:8-9)

5. Monotheism - There is only 1 God (Exodus 20:3)

What does unaffiliated Christian mean?

An unaffiliated Christian is a Christian who does not have a denomination nor a membership in a church. Unaffiliated Christians will attend more than one church; unaffiliated Christians will go to one type of church on one Sunday and will go to a different church the following Sunday. I believe that this practice is increasing and it might be because many Christians do not feel that their personal beliefs are compatible with church teachings.
