Very good question! you can ask him his favorite color, favorite sport, favorite car, favorite food, all the favorites basically. You can ask what classes hes taking, the main thing is to talk about yourself too, don't just ask question after question unless you ask if you wanna play 21 questions! =) that's a good game to play for new friends. (YOu don't just have to ask 21 questions. haha but make sure you both ask one everytime.) main thing just be yourself
