not sure is this isscientifically correct but you know

A hiccup is when you your intercostal muscles (the muscle in-between your ribs) have a spasm and it courses your diafram to move up and down which forces air out

I Think hiccups are traped wind which causes a spasm of the body and that is a hiccup i think i was told this by my Friends
