The one that is most readily recognized is the simple 'Philly' which has gained almost universal acceptance. The nickname 'City of Brotherly Love' is also popular and well known and it has also been known as the 'Cradle of Liberty' and 'The Birthplace of America' and to a lesser extent as 'The Quker City' and 'The City of Neighborhoods'.
