I don't know how young of a mother you're referring too but if the mother is say under 16 the biggest risk isn't to the child but to herself. Most girls are done growing at age 16 and their bodies are pretty much developed as they would be in their adult state. So their pregnancies should continue fine granted they eat well and have prenatal care.
The problem with very young mothers is since their bodies are still developing all of their nutrition doesn't go to the baby like it would otherwise in older moms. The nutrition goes to their growing bodies to help them prepare their bodies for the pregnancy and adulthood. So prenatal care is especially important because they need to eat much more than normal and make sure they are taking prenatal vitamins because the baby could be nutritionally deprived.
