A player on one of the teams begins a rally by serving the ball, tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net and into the receiving teams court. The receiving team has 3 tries to get the ball over the net again. If the ball lands on your side the other team gets a point and serves the ball.

Just like any other sport volleyball has several different rules. However, the rules might vary slightly based on where you play. The most basic of rules is that you don't want the volleyball to drop to the floor on your side of the net. Rule 2: When you are serving the volleyball you cannot step over the back line, this is called a foot-fault. Rule 3: When setting the ball your hands must always be above your head, if you hold the ball for too long or bring your hands below your head and attempt to set, you will be called for a "lift". Rule 4: If you jump in front of the ten foot line when you are back row or jump above the height of the net in the back row you will be called on a "back row attack". Rule 5: If your team is not in the right spots when one of the teams is serving you will be called for "out of rotation".

Do you mean, "What is the rules of the game of vol Here are the main rules and regulations for The game of Volley ball:

Number one: Once the ball is served, [ If it goes over the net, and doesn't go out of bounds, the returning team gets three hits, either bump, set or spike. No one player can hit the ball twice IN A ROW. However, it can be hit by one player, hit by another player, than the first player again.

Number two: About serving

If the serve does not go over, it is out.

Even if it does go over, if it goes out of bounds it is still out.

If you do not serve a proper serve it is out.

Number three: About hitting.

If you do not bump, set or spike it is an improper hit and is out.

If someone on your team hits it into the net, if it is not a serve, you can help it over the net.

If someone hits the ball out of bounds on a hit, not a serve, it is still playable, so do go get it.

I really hope this helps.

Some of the major rules of volleyball are...

1. You can't step over the out of bounds line while serving, also known as a foot-fault.

2. You cannot be in the net at any time or step over the line seperating the two sides of the court.

3. You cannot hit the ball more than 3 times, nor can one single player hit the ball twice in a row.

4. You can't "carry" the ball, which refers to pretty much holding the ball and then returning it to the other side.

Six players per team. During a play, a team gets no more than 3 contacts with the ball.

A ball touching the line is considered to be in.

The ball must pass over the net between the two poles holding up the net.

The same player may not touch the ball twice in a row or the net at all.

A back-row player may not jump and attack before the 3-meter line or perform a block.

To pass a serve, be ready and stay low with your knees bent. Watch the server's angle and anticipate where the ball might land. Keep your hands apart until the ball is hit toward your location.

If it may land within a foot radius around the front of you, create a platform by bringing your hands together with your arms extended forward and down. As the ball is about to reach the same height as your waist, use your forearms to bounce the ball either over the net or toward the relative area of your teammates, so they can pass or attack.

When your forearms make contact with the ball, you should barely have to move your arms, since the ball is rather bouncy; avoid swinging your arms or other extraneous movements. You mainly need to angle the ball in the right direction. If you need more power, gently shrug your shoulders or straighten your legs slightly.

If the ball seems to be landing at your direction but may land in your head's direction rather than at your waist area, put both hands up above your hand with palms toward the sky. The ball should bounce off your fingertips only and not contact your palms or anything else. If you perform this kind of pass, it's preferable to aim toward the relative area of your teammates, so that they can easily return the ball to the opponent.

Is beach volleyball and volleyball different?

Yes, Beach Volleyball is always played on a beach or a sand court, whereas Indoor Volleyball must always be played inside on a floor. But they both have the same rules in Volleyball it's just the court that is different. In terms of difficulty, a Beach court is much more harder than a indoor court. It is harder on a Beach court because the sand weighs you down when you are running and jumping, and the wind plays a very big role when it comes to playing Beach Volleyball. Whereas Indoor Volleyball is safe from the elements and the floor is solid so you can run easily and jump higher than on a Beach court.

How to becom a volleyball player?

in order to become a volleyball player, you don't have to take special classes, and there is never, EVER anyone there at the end to say, "You are officially a volleyball player." The only way to determine that you are a volleyball player is that you play somewhere. Like:1. It could be your house.2. A league.3. A school team.4. The Olympics.5. A contest.6. The beach. (Beach volleyball)7. Take classes at a gym or something. And in order to truly become and be a volleyball player, you must be dedicated. You must follow all the rules of volleyball. No matter what kind of volleyball your playing, Beach volleyball, or regular volleyball, you MUST follow the rules of the game.

What is the difference between beach volleyball and regular volleyball?

The difference between beach volleyball and sitting volleyball is that on the beach you do not sit to play volleyball where as obviously in sitting volleyball you would. Also I believe that usually disabled people play sitting volleyball. But I am quite sure that sitting volleyball could be played at the beach.
