In a job interview, employers are not allowed to ask questions about certain protected characteristics, such as race, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. These questions are illegal because they may be used to discriminate against a job candidate based on a protected characteristic.

Some examples of illegal questions include:

  1. Asking about a candidate's race, ethnicity, or national origin.
  2. Asking about a candidate's religion or religious practices.
  3. Asking about a candidate's age, if they are over 40.
  4. Asking about a candidate's disability status or asking about their past medical history.
  5. Asking about a candidate's sexual orientation or gender identity.
  6. Asking about a candidate's marital status, or if they have children or plan to have children in the future.
  7. Asking about a candidate's arrest or conviction record.
  8. It's important to note that some states, municipalities and countries may have more strict laws and protections, it's important to be aware of the laws in your area before conducting an interview. Employers are also obligated to provide accommodations for candidates with disabilities during the interview process, if needed.

It is always best to stick to questions that are job-related, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.

You shouldn't ask if the person is single, married, or asking them to give you everything they have (and pointing a gun). You shouldn't do these things, and there are more just than doing these things. It is illegal to do robberies, say illegal words, do illegal things, and those count for some questions that is illegal to be asked in a job interview.

There are several questions that are illegal and cannot be asked in a job interview, including questions about an applicant's race, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. It is also illegal to ask about an applicant's criminal history or whether they have any disabilities, unless the job is related to it. Additionally, employers are not allowed to ask questions that may reveal information about an applicant's pregnancy or plans to start a family. These types of questions are considered discriminatory and are prohibited by federal and state anti-discrimination laws.
