sales trade promotion techniques in business management journal with References Tools of Sales Promotion To increase the sale of any product manufactures or producers adopt… different measures like sample, gift, bonus, and many more. These are known as tools or techniques or methods of sales promotion. Let us know more about some of the commonly used tools of sales promotion. (i) Free samples: You might have received free samples of shampoo, washing powder, coffee powder, etc. while purchasing various items from the market. Sometimes these free samples are also distributed by the shopkeeper even without purhasing any item from his shop. These are distributed to attract consumers to try out a new product and thereby create new customers. Some businessmen distribute samples among selected persons in order to popularize the product. For example, in the case of medicine free samples are distributed among physicians, in the case of textbooks, specimen copies are distributed among teachers. (ii) Premium or Bonus offer: A milk shaker along with Nescafe, mug with Bournvita, toothbrush with 500 grams of toothpaste, 30% extra in a pack of one kg. are the examples of premium or bonus given free with the purchase of a product. They are effective in inducing consumers to buy a particular product. This is also useful for encouraging and rewarding existing customers. (iii) Exchange schemes: It refers to offering exchange of old product for a new product at a price less than the original price of the product. This is useful for drawing attention to product improvement. 'Bring your old mixer-cum-juicer and exchange it for a new one just by paying Rs.500' or 'exchange your black and white television with a colour television' are various popular examples of exchange scheme. (iv) Price-off offer: Under this offer, products are sold at a price lower than the original price. 'Rs. 2 off on purchase of a lifebouy soap, Rs. 15 off on a pack of 250 grams of Taj Mahal tea, Rs. 1000 off on cooler' etc. are some of the common schemes. This type of scheme is designed to boost up sales in off-season and sometimes while introducing a new product in the market. (v) Coupons: Sometimes, coupons are issued by manufacturers either in the packet of a product or through an advertisement printed in the newspaper or magazine or through mail. These coupons can be presented to the retailer while buying the product. The holder of the coupon gets the product at a discount. For example, you might have come across coupons like, 'show this and get Rs. 15 off on purchase of 5 kg. of Annapurna Atta'. The reduced price under this scheme attracts the attention of the prospective customers towards new or improved products. (vi) Fairs and Exhibitions: Fairs and exhibitions may be organised at local, regional, national or international level to introduce new products, demonstrate the products and to explain special features and usefulness of the products. Goods are displayed and demonstrated and their sale is also conducted at a reasonable discount. 'International Trade Fair' in New Delhi at Pragati Maidan, which is held from 14th to 27th November every year, is a wellknown example of Fairs and Exhibitions as a tool of sales promotion. (vii) Trading stamps: In case of some specific products trading stamps are distributed among the customers according to the value of their purchase. The customers are required to collect these stamps of sufficient value within a particular period in order to avail of some benefits. This tool induces customers to buy that product more frequently to collect the stamps of required value. (viii) Scratch and win offer: To induce the customer to buy a particular product 'scratch and win' scheme is also offered. Under this scheme a customer scratch a specific marked area on the package of the product and gets the benefit according to the message written there. In this way customers may get some item free as mentioned on the marked area or may avail of price-off, or sometimes visit different places on special tour arranged by the manufacturers. (ix) Money Back offer: Under this scheme customers are given assurance that full value of the product will be returned to them if they are not satisfied after using the product. This creates confidence among the customers with regard to the quality of the product. This technique is particularly useful while introducing new products in the market.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of export promotion and import substitution industrialization?
Advantages of ISI 1. Increase in domestic employment 2. Reducing dependence on labour non-intensive industries such as raw resource extraction and export 3. Resilience i…n the face of a global economic shock ( such as recessions and depressions) 4. Less long-distance transportation of goods ( and concomitant fuel consumption and greenhouse gas and other emissions) Disadvantages: 1. The industries it creates are inefficient and obsolete as they aren't exposed to internationally competitive industries which constitute their rivals and that the focus on industrial development impoverishes local commodity producers who are primarily rural. 2. Increase in unemployment internationally as world GDP decreases through the promotion of inefficiency.
Some of the disadvantages of being a promoter of a company include; He has a burden of recruiting directors which may be hectic because he might recruit those that may not be… of good faith and in the long run the company loses out. When a promoter is still processing the incorporation of a company, he won't be covered or paid his preliminary expenses as in law it is not a guarantee for the promoter to be remunerated. He also does not have privileges for example making profits in the due course of forming the company yet he engages his mid and soul to make sure that whatever he does for the company would be the best.

Advantages of using project management tools are:Tools can facilitate the creation and maintenance of project artifacts (e.g. project schedule) and especially good at complex …analysis (e.g. Earned Value Management);Tools are very good at linking to sub-projects or other work packages/plans;Tools are very good at providing various outputs (e.g. Gantt Charts, Milestone Charts, Network Diagrams etc)They can assist in the estimating/scheduling/planning stage and many scenarios can be run to find the most appropriate course of action; They are a good reminder of what needs to be done and what is outstanding; They can help record, link and analyse lots of data (e.g. Requirements Management Tool, Change Management Tool; Stakeholder Management Tool or Lessons Learnt Tool); They are good for trend analysis and looking at prioritising or re-scheduling activities (e.g. resource scheduling);Contribute to the build up of statistical information to assist in improving management of future projects;Allows a more objective comparison of alternative actions/decisions and provides repeatable results;Helps distinguish between good and bad luck and good and bad management; It can provide electronic methods of approvals, speeding up decision making; Can be very good when teams are not co-located at one place, and the team can access data when they need it and not rely on any individual (e.g. methods and procedure database with the most up-to-date versions on it);Can be good at generating automated reports (e.g. timecards associated with individual projects), if they are setup in the right way in the first place;Very good at re-assigning authority when individuals are away, so decisions can still be made and do not rely on single points of failure; The requirement to measure physical items facilitates tighter management controls; Disadvantages of using project management tools are:Some people (including management, team members, stakeholders) can find them difficult to understand;Tools can sometimes take too much time just to maintain the data and keep the tool updated - Don't under estimate the cost of capturing the data; They take time and effort and funding to train the staff to use;Often can often be expensive and there is a license fee attached to the tool (if not developed in house) and annual maintenance charges;Change them and updating can be costly and complex;Staff can use them inappropriately and not enter the required data to make them worthwhile (e.g. risk management tools); They can require lots of data to be generated and if it is not generated, then the results of the tool maybe suspect; If not understood properly they can be prone to error and can produce misleading results and can lead the Project Manager to make ill-informed decisions; They can be too complicated, too time-consuming and unnecessary for small projects;Use with caution on very large and complex networked projects because you can make a change and this could affect the rest of the project and you may not be aware of the automated changes the tool makes;People can tend to trust the tool outputs without questioning the rigor that went into producing the results; It can be very difficult retrospectively looking at what happened if you didn't capture the input data at the time;Tools can hide the detail and provide a whole project view, which may hide over performance in one area and under-performance in another. Project Management Tools are very useful if applied in a disciplined manner. If they are used to replace expertise and in other inappropriate ways, then they will not provide value for money. Project Managers should constantly review the use and output of tools, because just because one was bought some time ago, it doesn't mean it is still of value today or in the future. If you want to migrate data to the next generation system, consider using open architecture or commercial standard tools and systems, otherwise if you use be-spoke systems it could be more costly in the future. Also look at what tools your customers and competitors use.
The advantages when it comes to using the Internet as a job search tool is the Internet represents a powerful, and fast changing fluid source. The ability to jump from site by… site hyperlinks, in addition the Internet is always available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. this is an advantage for those people who are not able to job hunt during regular business hours due to the fact that they are too busy or for whatever the reason might be. This is also helpful to those who are seeking employment in another geographic area or career field as they might have to frequently use the Internet this might be an easier process sense you would have to search for the location that's hiring on-line rather than spending a whole bunch of time flipping through yellow pages and etc. the Internet resources and information is absolutely free, and there are no geographic boundaries. In addition you search is not limited you can search in or outside United States or any other country around the world. When job seekers post their resume on-line it can provide them with maximum exposure and be made available for employers to see with minimum efforts. The disadvantages of using the Internet as a job tool is you can spend hours in front of the computer and yet get nowhere at all and just because it appears on the Internet does not mean it is completely true or accurate. In addition the Internet is an ever changing medium. So sites that are here today may be gone tomorrow. And the Internet is becoming more and more commercial in addition most sites that promise help for the job seeker simply want to advertise and sell products, or just steal your personal information. This had happened to me several times when I went job seeking on-line its crazy because you can never tell if it's a real or fake site nowadays anyone can build a website stating they are a licensed company and there site is secure you can purchase products from then, now this is all up to you if you want to risk giving you personal information out online. So it is very important that you do your research and make sure that the company is accurate or what I usually do is type in the company's name in Google search engine and search for company's reviews more than likely 1 or more people have had a previous problem with the same company you have that gut feeling about.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of structured English that is the tool of structured analysis?
Hi there i was searching for disadvantages of structured English and came across your question, I have some advantages noted already, so thought I would share Advantages: …Structured English is designed to be easy enough for a user who knows nothing about computer programming to be able to understand the steps involved in performing the various processes, yet the structure of the descriptions make it easy to eventually convert to a programming language. Using Structured English also means not having to worry about initialising variables, opening and closing files, or finding related records in separate files. These more technical details are left to later in the design stage. Structured English and Logic Modelling are used in conjunction with Data Flow Diagrams and other models (E-R) to provide us with an unambiguous and thorough explanation of the system specifications. Structured English is intended to be used as a communication technique for analysts and users. Analysts and programmers have their own communication technique, pseudocode, which is really an extension of the Structured English concepts except that it resembles a programming language more than spoken English.
