How do you eliminate poverty from Pakistan?

The Pakistani Government have actually done nothing for the poor and to reduce poverty. All the Politicians are corrupt, the whole country is full of corruption, and all leaders and Politicians are only busy cheating and making money.

Controlling poverty in Pakistan will require a substantial change in the behavior of the population.

1. Stop supporting the spread of jihad both internally and externally. This does not mean giving up personal beliefs, but it does mean no longer supporting those within Pakistan, Pakistani or not, who want to bring their particular brand of Islam to Pakistan, Afghanistan or elsewhere. This diverts resources to areas that does not and will never help the economy, and in the end the jihad stops itself because it runs out of money.

2. Get beyond tribalism. Being a nation means sometimes placing the needs of the nation above the needs of your tribe. It also means sometimes taking the word of another tribe over your fellow tribesman, particularly when the independent evidence supports it. It means not taking everything said against you as an insult that requires retaliation. It also means not necessarily grabbing everything you can right now, but taking a longer view. End the honor killings. Protect your women by putting their bodies and minds ahead of men's honor. This means treating the male worse than the female when a crime is committed against a woman. If accepting a benefit means your enemy benefits as well, be generous and let your enemy benefit.

3. Stop the petty corruption. Nobody wants to start a business if they have to keep paying and paying and paying for permission. In the end, the people demanding bribes hurt themselves out of greed. If they were less greedy, more people would start businesses and, while the amount extracted from each person would be less, there would be more people so everyone can make more profit.

4. Create secular laws on enforcement of contracts and create a secular court system that will consistently enforce contracts based on that secular law and not based on tribal or religious sect affiliation. Knowing that agreements will be enforced based on the law known at the time the agreement was formed and according to that agreement removes unknowns from business. Why should I enter into a contract with you if your cousin is the judge and he will place blood above the law? Why should I enter into an agreement that a religious court belonging to a sect I don't belong to declares it illegal after I have fulfilled my end but the other party, who happens to belong to that sect, has not?

5. Demand minimal education standards for all, including women. Make it clear that areas that do not show that everyone, including women, have received an education that reaches these minimal standards will be fined and government benefits will be withheld.

6. Develop police and military forces that place their primary loyalty to the country as a whole, not to the leaders, a religious sect or their tribe and that do not take bribes. By placing loyalty to the nation and ensuring the nation grows strong, the tribes will also grow strong. By fairly enforcing the law equally, everybody benefits.

7. Live with religious differences. Agree to disagree. Allah is powerful enough that he can take care of his enemies without help.

These seven steps will take years to enact, and in the long run will do more to control poverty than any foreign aid program. It will help every person, every tribe, every religious sect and the nation as a whole to rise out of poverty.
