Advantages:

It contains an 0 figure which makes all operations of arithmetic to be carried out quite easily.

It is a decimal system based on positional place value.

It is capable of expressing very large numbers by means of scientific notation or exponents with the least amount of numbers.

Disadvantages:

Prime numbers can't be worked out in a systematic manner in the same way that number sequences can.

Only about 44 prime numbers are known and they can be made up of billions upon billions of digits.

The value of Irrational Numbers, pi, surds and even infinity itself can't be determined to an exact decimal place.
