It depends on the school. Every school has different requirements. Usually the school posts that information in their admission materials. It can sometimes be found on the school's website as well.
Usually it's somewhere around a 3.0, but your GPA happens to be lower, u better have some sports and activites to back yourself up b/c remember colleges look at those too!

There isn't any hard and fast value. Community colleges generally take anyone with a pulse and a high school diploma or GED. More prestigious schools are frequently less concerned with the GPA itself and are more interested in what courses you took specifically, what you did above and beyond coursework, and how well you did on standardized tests (or even, in some cases, on essays and personal interviews).
One reason GPA isn't generally regarded as a great indicator is that different calculation methods can actually penalize students for trying to stretch themselves: someone who takes (say) calculus and gets a B may well be smarter and a better student than someone who took remedial math and got an A, but if the classes are weighted the same, guess whose GPA is going to be higher?
