Omega 3s are essential fatty acids and are known to benefit health in a number of ways. Heart health experts recommend omega 3 supplements for those with high cholesterol/triglyceride levels. Experts also recommend that healthy individuals eat fatty fish at least twice a week to get a natural source of omega 3s in their diet. Fish oil supplements also support healthy skin as well as bones and joints. They are also known to enhance memory and support cognitive functions of the brain. It is important to choose a high quality triple strength fish oil-one which has the least impurities and the highest potency like Triple Strength Omega 3.

The Omega-3 fatty acid has many positive effects for the body and is said to be good for the eyes, heart, and the brain. There is more evidence that Omega-3 fatty acid is good for the heart than for any other organ. For the brain it is said to improve memory and other cognitive functions. It may also reduce triglyceride levels.

The benefits may include cardiovascular health, joint health, brain health, bone health, cognitive health, weight loss -- that's just to name a few. I've done a little study on the benefits which is why I take a daily softgel

supplement that contains 600 mg EPA, 200 mg DHA , 50 mg ALA and resveratrol

for its heart health benefits, Vitamin D3 for bone and immune health and L-theanine

for relieving stress.

I don't find these ingredients in other fish oil capsules I have looked at. However, that is just an

opinion and does

not necessarily reflect

the findings of other people taking omega 3 supplements.

Some of the potential health benefits of omega-3 fatty acids supplementation are controversial, recent research proof Omega-3 is not as good as we all once believed but it doesn't seem to do much harm either.

Omega-3 are fats commonly found in marine and plant oils.

Positive

  • The evidence linking the consumption of fish to the risk of cancer is poor but there.
  • There is evidence that rheumatoid arthritis sufferers taking Omega from sources such as fish have reduced pain.
  • Some potential benefits have been reported in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.
  • It's used to calm ADHD at children, again not confirmed but promising.
  • Omega reduces the chance of early birth.
  • Mental Disorders have had good use of Omega.
  • Reduce the risk of dementia, does not cure.

Negative

  • Increased incidence of bleeding.
  • Hemorrhagic stroke.
  • Oxidation of omega-3 fatty acids, forming biologically active oxidation products.
  • Increased levels of low-density lipoproteins (LDL) cholesterol or apoproteins associated with LDL cholesterol among diabetics and hyperlipidemics.
  • Reduced glycemic control among diabetics.

Neutral

  • It was believed Omega would reduce the risk of stroke and heart failure, there is no evidence of this what so ever.
