What are the factors which leads to the deterioration of moral values?

• The cause is directly related to selflessness and greed. The majority of people in any society usually follow the examples set by the leaders and popular people that they adore. Most of the leaders and popular people are usually involved in activities that are designed to satisfy their greed and selfishness with little or no regards for the welfare of others or for the environment.

The result of selfishness and greed is oppression and prejudice where the leaders and popular persons do not practice integrity, equity and justice so the society loses all respect for the rights of others in their struggle for self preservation.

• What one person thinks is a moral imperative is not necessarily a moral imperative to another. For example in some a woman walking along the street without a bag over her head would mean she is so immoral that she deserves to be killed for her loose behavior. while we would see that treating the woman like that as an immoral act. It seems that morality in the end is in the opinion of the observer. A lot of the nicety's that were once part of everyday life seem to be disappearing because people everywhere are becoming a lot more self centered. this is the result of economic pressure being put on them. perhaps we need to look at reducing our dependence on material goods a little.

• The cause is growing greed and need of the people materialism has covered the moral values.

• The abuse of alcohol and off course THE TELEVISION and internet. There is also a lack of parental influence on children, who fail to give them proper manners and they fall prey to all the absurdity they see on TV and that's the TELEVISION which has become the CHILD'S FIRST TEACHER, not MOTHERS!
