South Africa operated under a minority ruled Apartheid state until the system ended in 1994. The country had a hierarchy that was race dependent with whites at the top, Colored and Asians were below them, and the black majority population was at the bottom. Every detail within the system was aimed at keeping the races separate.

South Africa is known for?

South Africa is well known for many things, here is what I know, Up until 1994, South Africa was known for apartheid, or white-minority rule. The British fought for control over South Africa and moved right in with them and took over their government. That was until Nelson Mandela fixed that and ran the government eventually.I hope I helped!
