a drama is a script intended to be acted, ie as in a play, or film,

the script will be written for an actor to speak

example

JO (shouting)........... " Sid! , put the kettle on,"

SID, (shouting reply)......... " No, do it yourself."

in a novel (such as a book) it would be

Jo shouted at Sid to put the kettle on, but Sid just shouted back to her "no! do it yourself"

so drama is normally acted intended for watching and a novel is normally read,

at least i think that's about right,

Beside many similarities like dialogue, scenes, characters, plot etc there are some differences in novel and drama. A novel is a long story with many digressions in its scenes therefore, it can't be acted on stage while a drama is a short story with simple scenes having less or no digressions in them and intended to be acted on stage.

Novels are written in prose and focus on detailed storytelling, character development, and narrative structure, whereas drama is written for performance and typically involves dialogue, stage directions, and a focus on conflict and resolution through action. Novels give insight into characters' internal thoughts and emotions, while drama relies on external actions and dialogue to convey the story.
