The advantages of fascism are maninly that it shortens political processes so that if a law of legislation needs to be passed that is for the best of the country, then it can be passed quickly and can be put into effect quickly, which can make the difference in improving a country.

Other advantages include dictators in a fascist reigime can (if they are uncorrupt) concern themselves fully with the best thing for their country, rather than trying to stay in power and not be voted out in the next election. A disadvantage of democracy that is solved by fascism is that in many times, what the voters want can be influenced by personal traits of potential leaders or just plain ineducation and this can have the result of a very bad descision made for a nation.

These only apply if the reigime is un corrupt and is truly benevolent

In my opinion, it was a reasonable alternative to monarchies and communism. It presented a way for a nation to organize in unison behind one cultural, national identity. You have to remember, after World War 1 and the great depression, much of Europe was in economic turmoil and was willing to latch onto ANY glimmer of hope that would pull their country out of their situations.
