After that you get a job as a resident, which is a doctor in training. You work as a doctor, under supervision of other more experienced doctors, while learning to be a urologist. Its on the job training. That takes about 3-4 years. Of course, you are paid, but not a lot. Its a lot of work, but can be very rewarding. Its a long process to become a urologist, but also keep in mind that after medical school, you can decide to go into any of the many specialties in medicine, including internal medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, obstetric & gynecology, surgery, etc. Also, you may find that you're more interested in research along the way and end up wanted to use your skills to do that. It sounds like a long road of education, but I think its totally worth it, and it can be a lot of fun throughout, as you can get involved in a lot of interesting extracurricular activities, not to mention that the things you learn help you understand so much more about your own health and the world around us.
