The people visiting can throw trash into the water and also. They can also harm the coral reef in an indirect way by visiting the coral reefs, the hotel companies will then want to build more hotels. When the workers pile up the sand and mud by the shreline, there is a good chance that a lot of that deposit will wash into the ocean, block the pores of the sponges and corals, and kill them quicker.
