There are many ways to play Chinese Jump Rope, but this is the way I know how: Stretch the jump rope between to chairs to make it a rectangle. Use this pattern: In, Out, Left, Right, On. Start by straddling the jumprope. On in, jump inside so both feet are inside the jumprope. On out, straddle the jumprope like you started. On left, jump with both feet out of the rope on the left side On right, jump with both feet out of the rope on the right side On on, jump on the two longs sides of the rope. HAVE FUN! by Missyboo
Chinese jumprope is where you get a rope and you tie it together to form a circle. The two people who are turning place the rope around their ankles and the jumper in the middle jumps over the two ropes back and forth.

Chinese children, mainly girls, play Chinese jump rope. It is played by tying the ends of a jump rope together, placing it around the ankles of two people, with one person jumping left to right inside the rope, one foot in and the other out, turning half way with the rope between your ankles and then trying to jump inside the rope without stepping on it. Once that happens the rope is then moved up half way between your knees and ankles and so on and so on. The higher the rope is the harder the level. In addition to traditional Chinese games, children in China play the same games as those in the Western world. With the addition of a much more Western culture, the Chinese have adapted to play, wear, and eat the same things. They play video games such as World of Warcraft and they have traditional boardgames such as Go, chess, and checkers. A popular game is also "Rock-Paper-Scissors", very similar to the Western version. They even play a game similar to hopscotch.

It's unclear when jump roping began. According to the jump rope institue "The first concrete evidence of jump rope activity can be seen in medieval paintings where children roll hoops and jump rope down the cobblestone streets of Europe. Although, the exact origin of jump rope activity is unclear. Some date jump roping to ancient China; however, the Western versions probably originated from 1600 A.D. Egypt. What is known is that jump roping, in some form or another, spread through Europe to the Netherlands, and eventually to North America." While it likely dates back to china no one is positive about this.
