I think you're looking for is the term resolution. Computer display (or monitor) resolution is usually expressed in numbers of columns (vertical) and rows (horizontal) pixel counts. A pixel is generally the smallest addressable element in a display screen and may be composed of three or more color-producing sub-pixels.

For example, my notebook's LCD panel has a resolution of 1280 x 800. A larger, higher resolution notebook display might have a resolution of 1440 x 900. HD 1080 format monitors or televisions often have resolutions of 1920 x 1080, where 1080 is the number of horizontal lines. A very high resolution desktop monitor might have a resolution of 2560 x 1600, though most consumer panels are HD 1080 (1920 x 1080).

How do pictures represents?

Computers represent pictures via image files. Image files typically store the information in a grid like format, with each block on the grid being a colored square known as a 'pixel' if you put enough colored blocks next to each other (like, hundreds or thousands) then it starts to look like a picture -- each pixel has its own color and when you put enough of them on the grid the pixels appear as an image rather than a bunch of colored blocks. Everything displayed on a computer screen is a pixel too, and the term 'resolution' is a count of how many pixels are displayed at once, a 1920x1080 screen resolution means that the screen may contain 1920 pixels (colored blocks) from left-to-right and 1080 pixels from top-to-bottom for a whopping 2 million pixels on screen at once (2 megapixels) which results in a screen which can display a lot of finely detailed things at once. Likewise, if you zoomed to 100% on an 8 megapixel image, it would be large enough to occupy 4 1920x1080 computer screens.

The distance between pixels on a monitor screen is called?

The question doesn't make any sense. If you want to know what the distance between pixels is called, it is dot pitch. If you are asking what the actual distance is, that depends on the monitor. The manufacturer would have this information.

What is response time of LCD TV'S?

The brief answer is that LCD screens need to turn pixels off and on to display images. How quickly the screen can turn these pixels off and on, is known as response time. Response time is measured in milliseconds. I.e 1/1000th of seconds or part there of, for quicker refesh. - Lenny Bielski

What is the difference between 1080p and 1080i HDTV?

1080i and 1080p are both High Definition display formats for HDTVs. 1080i and 1080p signals actually contain the same information. Both 1080i and 1080p represent a 1920x1080 pixel resolution (1,920 pixels across the screen by 1,080 pixels down the screen). The difference between 1080i and 1080p is in the way the signal is sent from a source component or displayed on an HDTV screen. In 1080i each frame of video is sent or displayed in alternative fields. The fields in 1080i are composed of 540 rows of pixels or lines of pixels running from the top to the bottom of the screen, with the odd fields displayed first and the even fields displayed second. Together, both fields create a full frame, made up of all 1,080 pixel rows or lines, every 30th of a second. In 1080p, each frame of video is sent or displayed progressively. This means that both the odd and even fields (all 1,080 pixel rows or pixel lines) that make up the full frame are displayed together. This results in a smoother looking image, with less motion artifacts and jagged edges. 1080p can also be displayed (Depending on the video processing used) as a 1080p/60 (Most common), 1080p/30, or in 1080p/24 formats. 1080p/60 is essentially the same frame repeated twice every 30th of a second. (Enhanced video frame rate.) 1080p/30 is the same frame displayed once every 30th of a second. (Standard live or recorded video frame rate.) 1080p/24 is the same frame displayed every 24th of a second (Standard motion picture film frame rate.)
