It requires a lot of schooling and knowledge. You have to know what you're talking about too. There's no guessing in this field. Also, you have to put up with a lot of unhappy patients. Some of them don't want to hear certain news and some just don't have patience. There's a lot of paperwork too.

The main disadvantage is continuous exposure to Radiation. The protective gear doesn't cover every inch of the body.

Even when it is not producing immediate harm, there is always a chance that it can at some point in time, so one can have psychological stress too.

Coming from someone that has worked 4 years now.

There are many... short staffing, long hours, not enough pay, stressful atmosphere. Most people think Sonographer's (Ultrasound Tech's) have a fun, laid back job but we have to know every part of the body inside out. Patients treat us rudely when we won't give them results but we are not allowed to discuss anything per hospital policy. We are exposed to blood and body fluids on a daily basis doing biopsies and Transvaginal Ultrasound. We have to clean fecal matter up, and sometimes get peed or vomited on. Ultrasound is not just scanning fetuses all day long, in most cases we scan almost the entire body, blood vessels, scrotum, and prostate rectally. After the studies, we have to write up an impression for the Radiologist and this takes much longer than X-Ray, CT, MRI ect. There are not enough jobs out there for Ultrasound, most are per Diem. If you do find a FT job starting off, you will most likely be subjected to working most holiday's, taking call on day's off, and weekend shifts that nobody else wants.

Don't get me wrong... I love my job very much and It's rewarding to help diagnose people but if you want a more in demand job please look into general X-Ray and CT!

Can you get a job as a radiologist with a nuclear medicine degree?

A nuclear medicine degree is not a radiologist. A radiologist is a physician that has gone on for another 5 years or so of school. Other doctors besides a radiologist can go on to become board certified in Nuclear Medicine as well. There will be soon a Nuclear Medicine Practitioner as mid level provider though.

If you are interested in the career of health care, yes. It is a fairly easy job, but may seem monotonous or they hours may be long.
