pros: the same standard for everyone, there is little crime because the law is strictly enforced, eliminates local cultures and hereditary elites, and a lot of communist countries invest in education

cons: too much focus on the group, instead of the individual, you can't raise your standard without being corrupted and active in politics, no personal freedoms. Many executions if you went against the communist government.

In Socialism all goods and services are indeed free, but they are not provided by the government, as there will be no government or rulers. Goods will be the result of people co-operating for the common good, without money or prices or wages or the market.

(Note that Socialism, Stalism, communism and Dictatorship are distinct ideologies)pros
  • distributes the wealth the wealth more evenly
  • increases workers rights
  • decreases poverty
  • allows for a stable economy
  • many social programs are based on socialism; food stamps, public housing, public health-care, public education

cons

  • increased taxes
  • increased bureaucracy

perceptual cons (these are not cons of socialism in and of itself, but are cons of typical "socialist" governments)

  • totalitarianism (too strong of government)
  • infringement of human rights
  • monarchy (Dictatorship)
  • lack of democracy

Also, note that Socialism can refer to either a political (i.e. government) type, or an economic model. Socialist governments don't have to follow a socialist economic model, and vice versa. Usually, "Socialism" [capitalized] refers to the political form, and "socialism" [lowercase] refers to the economic model.

There are way too many pros and cons of Marxism to elaborate on in one article, and it is a hot topic at the moment. Much of what one finds in relation to the "pros and cons" of Marxism will inevitably be highly opinionated and biased, as pure Marxism, although appealing and worth considering, is a work of fiction and institutional Marxism has been a failure. Most commentators really have very little experience of what living in a Marxist society is like, and therefore can only offer textbook replies and hypothesis. Marxism has many idealogical high points, but has yet to prove superior as the sole governing ideology on a large scale, much less in a global economy. In some countries, such as the USA, people have the opportunity to share the best of both worlds by forming workers unions in their free market economy. The people collectively bargain for better wages and working conditions. The workers all make the same wage according their particular skill level, and in this way are not only avoid undercutting among each other, but avoid targeting by management looking to cut cost. Most importantly, the Union takes on a collective mind to form together and decide how it will perform tasks as a group, and ultimately what amount of compensation is fair for the work being done. In this manner, the government keeps its hands off and allows the people to decide for themselves, as each individual and area are distinct. Many will argue that America functions best as a Capitalist society with a strong Union workforce.

Of course just by avoiding conflict doesn't make a strong make-up of a team. A strong unified team of course needs to have a strong team leader. This leader needs to promote conflict avoidance. Just shoving things aside and let the project workers row the boat as smoothly as possible. When the team devise their jobs accordingly to their skill and keep themselves busy they have no time to fight. Not giving them a reason and time to be hostile is a good way of avoiding conflict that may arise.

Competition is a person with a win-win personality. Assertive and uncooperative that person will damage relationships between the team. Team unity is not prevalent here. It is just about doing the job, by whatever means necessary as long as you don't get in that persons way. This type of personality is actually the most deterring in team unity because it's quite contrasted in meaning. Most of the time these teams with a competition type personality in it disassemble after the project is over. This person in his team takes over the whole project and finishes it in time. As he looks up to see which members are proud of him for doing most of the work and taking over the project everyone just leaves and goes home because they felt left out and it isn't fun working with these kind of competitive people. Yes the product is complete, but what is the point

The Pros and Cons of Conflict 5

of team unity. Maybe this type of conflict management can help speed things up it takes a toll on the team.

Collaboration is pretty good but it's not great because it waste too much time on dealing with issues. The issue at hand is usually people's feelings and how what can be done to make them feel more comfortable in dealing with conflict. Who cares to share and understand who or what you are; I just want to get the project completed before the deadline is due. This mentality is better because there are too many feelings going along with...

-Everyone gets the same pay. Sound like a good thing, right? Well, when a doctor sees a janitor getting the same pay as him, he doesn't want to work that hard because being a janitor is an easier job. This is what a lot of people in a communist country realize, so you eventually the population doesn't want to work very hard. This leads to a bad economy, which leads to a lower standard of living.

-The government becomes corrupt. When it has all the power, it is no longer under pressure from the citizens to make good decisions. It hogs much of the wealth of the nation for the politicians.

-Anyone who opposes the government is kidnapped in the middle of the night and (in Soviet Russia) shipped to Siberia to freeze to death.

Marxism provides a convincing analysis of capitalism and how the economy benefits only a tiny minority of the population. It also sets out (though not in detail) how the abolition of the wages system can solve society’s problems.
