The F5 key will start a show. Shift - F5 will start the show from the current slide when you are working on one, which is handy for seeing how the new slide works, rather than having to go through the whole show to reach it.
Select the slide that you want to duplicate and use Ctrl + D
You can add a new slide with Control + N. You can make the slide show mode with F5.
