About the same difference between World War 2 and World War 1. The warplane and the tank were first used in World War 1, but armies were unable to move fast enough for long enough to exploit the break in the enemy line. This situation was rectified early in World War 2, and it kept the Gulf War from becoming a replay of World War 1. The new emphasis was on rapid mobility and attack rather than static defense. Also, World War 1 was the only war in which chemical warfare was legally used. There was concern that Hussein might use it on the Gulf Coalition as he had done earlier against the Kurds and Shiites in Iraq. As in World War 2, both sides in the Gulf War had the ability to wage chemical warfare, and yet it was not used.

in ww1 they did not have the technology we have now.

There are no similarities between the two wars other than the fact that the British and Americans were allied and that they were wars. Other than that, everything is different such as: Trench Warfare vs. Urban Warfare, Army Confrontations vs. Counterinsurgency Fighting, Nationalistic Motives vs. Religious Motives, Use of Poisoned Gas and Biological Weapons vs. Use of Conventional Weapons, Occurred in Europe vs. Occurred in Iraq, Resulted in New Nations vs. Resulted in Nation-Building, etc.

Well, the tank really has come a long way since they were first introduced on the Western Front. Your mainstay weapons of the First World War were bolt action rifles in the general range of .30 calibre, whereas modern military rifles are designed for rapid fire, and intermediate range engagements. Flamethrowers are more or less a thing of the past. The shotgun proved a very versatile weapon in the trenches, and are becoming more commonplace in the urban sprawls of Iraq. Air support can be coordinated with ground units now, thanks to advances in communications which didn't exist during WWI. Instead of having to travel on foot or by camel through the desert, modern units have wheeled vehicles, armoured vehicles, and aircraft.

WWI was a war between NATIONS. No country is at war with Iraq. Iraq has a law enforcement problem (issue); terrorists (criminals).

Compare and contrast the Trojan war to the peloponnesian war?

There is nothing to compare. The so-alled Trojan war was an extended looting of the coast and islands of western Asia Minor by the Greeks. The Peloponnesian War was a struggle within the Greek world between the Athenian empire and the Peloponnesian League over the former's attempts at dominance.
