There are actually 4 parts to a workout: The warmup, stretching, workout, and cool down. A warmup usually involves a light jog, and gets you ready to start your exercise. Stretching could be touching your toes or things like that, and it normally improves flexibility. A workout builds muscle and endurance. Push-ups, curl-ups, pull-ups, leg lifts, and sprints are good examples of workout type exercises. A cool down helps your body to get rid of latic acid build up and keeps you from getting sore.

Again, this is normally a light jog.
