Francesco Redi and Louis Pasteur disproved spontaneous generation.
Redi experimented with raw meat in two flasks: one with and one without a top. He left the meat sitting in each flask for a few days and the one without the top had maggots and the one with the top had no maggots. Many people disregarded his experiment and kept thinking living things came from nonliving things.
Pasteur experimented a few years later with two swan necked flasks and broth from a soup. One flask was tilted and the other wasn't. In the tilted flask the broth was fogged with microorganisms and the other flask was the same as before. Not only did he disprove spontaneous generation, but he was believed and came up with the theory of biogenesis which means all living organisms came from other living organisms.
Hope I helped :D
Francesco Redi: disproved spontaneous generation generation by setting up jars of meat on a table. the 1st one was uncovered. the 2nd one was covered with gauze and the 3rd was covered with thick parchment.
results: 1. was infested with flies and maggots
2. had fly eggs on the gauze but the meat was unharmed
3. no flies were attracted
with this experiment, the idea that flies evolved from meat was no longer believed
Louis Pasteur: disproved spontaneous generation by setting up flasks of broiled broth and some were covered and some werent. the ones that were covered were not infested with bacteria but the ones not covered were infested with bacteria. though some scientists still believed in spontaneous generation as a possiblity. his final experiment involved broiled broth in a flask but was curved at a zig zag motion and was uncovered.
results: the bacteria settled only on the edges or curves of the flask but no bacteria was infested with bacteria. this experiment was left out and never put away for 4 yrs and the broth still was never infested. this disproves spontaneous generation (the belief that living things can come from nonliving things)
Spallanzani heated broth in a flask that was sealed. The ones that were opened got contaminated and became cloudy. Redi put decaying meat in some jars. Fly maggots appeared only in the uncovered jars. Pasteur used s-neck to disprove spontaneous generation.
Although the idea that you can actually create scorpions by placing basil between two bricks and leaving them in the sun seems very silly to us, the theory of spontaneous generation was seriously debated for many many years. While Pasteur was not the first to propose the germ theory (Girolamo Fracastoro, Agostino Bassi, Lazzaro Spallanzani and others had suggested it earlier, with the significant experimental demonstration by Francesco Redi in the 17th century), he refined the theory and later proved it without any doubt in anyone's mind. The term germ theory means that life comes from life.
They were:
living things can only arise from living things and cant be spontaneously generated
blabity bla
The jar that contained the meat with the cover on it.
Spontaneous generation is when organisms created by matter... for example old rotten food creating larvas and flies. biogenesis is the organisms created by other living creatures like flies reproducing to create larvas
tanous generation is the theory of life arising from nonliving things
no he developed evolutionary theory
Spontaneous generation suggests that the earthworms fell from the sky
The theory that replaced the theory of spontaneous generation is the theory of biogenesis. Biogenesis is the production of new living organisms or organelles.
Louis Pasteur was able to convince others of his germ theory by performing extensive experiments. Through these experiments, he was able to disprove spontaneous generation and prove biogenesis.
bogenisis-theory that living things come only from other living things . spontaneous generation-idea that living things come from nonliving things.
No, spontaneous generation has never occurred, and according to the law of biogenesis, it will never occur. The law of biogenesis, along with being the fundamental law of scientific study, states that living things can only come from living things, and this has consistenly remained correct through multifarious experiments, particularly those of Louis Pasteur and Francesco Redi. Because matter has no possibility of creating living matter, spontaneous generation has never occurred.
All the statements for spontaneous generation are not serious.
bogenisis-theory that living things come only from other living things . spontaneous generation-idea that living things come from nonliving things.
IT TOOK HUNDRED OF YEARS OF EXPERIMENTS TO CONVINCE PEOPLE THAT SPONTANEOUS GENERATION DEOS NOT OCCUR. i'm not lieing :)
Nothing in the bible disproved spontaneous generation, the scientists Louis Pasteur and Francesco Redi disproved spontaneous generation in a series of very careful experiments.
Louis demonstrated that the fermentation process is caused by the growth of microorganisms, and that the growth of microorganisms in nutrient broths is not due to spontaneous generation[5]but rather to biogenesis (Omne vivum ex ovo). c. spontaneous generation
Redi and Pasteur helped to disprove spontaneous generation.
This proves that there is no such thing as spontaneous generation.
Louis Pasteur is the name of the French chemist who supplied proof for the theory of biogenesis. The theory in question observes that life comes from life by way of reproduction. Experiments by the French-born chemist and microbiologist in question (December 27, 1822 - September 28, 1895) still serve as refutation of the theory of spontaneous generation.
