Pirate Halloween Costume

I'm from British Columbia, Canada, so don't know if you have a "Valu Village" there. It's a second-hand clothing store and they have great costumes there for a fraction of the price. If you don't have a "Valu Village" then I am sure you have a second-hand clothing store (that also sells books, china, etc.) in your area. Go there and buy one for your son because it's cheaper than making it. Go onto www.google.com Type in: Pirate Costumes You'll be able to see what you want your son to look like. Johnny Depp in "The Pirates of the Caribbean" is a good place to start and you can even make due with some things you have at home.

To make a Pirate Costume

To make a pirate costume is pretty easy. All you really need is some red and white striped pants, with ripped edges at the bottom. You will also need a white shaggy silk shirt, with a tuxedo that has red paint splattered on it. You could have a scarf that matches the pants. (red and white striped) For a hat, a black, or red and white or black striped bandanna would do the trick, just put sew a skull and cross bones onto it. Also, for more of a pirate effect, put on some dark brown make up, in cracks on the sides of your nostrils, above, and underneath the eyes, and put some on the sides of the face, to make a dirt smear. You could take some eye liner, and make some light lines underneath the eyes, to make the eyes stand out, like a dirty look. You could also use with the eyeliner, to make scar looks, just draw with black eye liner, across the face, and on that, make short stitches, going the opposite way. For shoes, you could buy brand new black shoes, just take a butter knife (parent intended) and scrape up the boots, for a more worn look. And let the child use a ring, and put it on their finger, and dirty it up in dirt, for a good dirty look. For more information on pirate costumes, just email: Paige0220 @ hotmail .com (no spaces) and that person, will tell you tons more of what you can do with a pirate costume. Reasons for Choosing Proper Size Halloween Costumes for Kids?

Today, many children spend a lot of time deciding what they will be for Halloween. Some children go with a classic choice such as a monster or a ghost. Other children prefer to dress as a favorite character in a new movie or cartoon. Regardless of a child's choice, it's important for parents to select a Halloween costume in the proper size. The following are some reasons why parents should dedicate time to finding the right size Halloween costumes for their children. First, when it comes to a child's Halloween costume, length is one of the most important features to consider. Many children enjoy trick or treating with friends on Halloween night. A costume that is too long presents a safety risk to the child who's wearing it. For example, a child who is dressed as a ghost should be wearing a sheet with a hem that hangs several inches above the feet. Parents should not allow a child to wear a ghost costume that drags on the ground. In order to avoid stumbling and falling over the costume, a child should be able to walk normally without kicking the hem of the sheet. A Halloween costume that is suited to a child's height will contribute to a safe night of trick or treating. Next, proper size Halloween costumes don't have a lot of cumbersome layers of fabric. Layers can be stepped on by other children or become caught in doors. In addition, the sleeves of a costume should be the proper length. If a child has to continually push up the sleeves of the costume, then the sleeves are too long. A child's Halloween costume should be lightweight and offer freedom of movement. Finally, a child's Halloween costume should never be too tight. A child who is wearing a costume that is too snug may get overheated and won't be able to enjoy a night of scary fun. Parents should go with their child to the costume store and have the boy or girl try on the costume to make sure it is the proper size. Ideally, parent and child should agree on a creative costume that fits properly.

Finding Costumes for Children?

For many children, one of the most exciting days of the year is Halloween. Children love Halloween because they get to dress up in an elaborate costume, attend a party, or go trick-or-treating with their friends. For the holiday, one of the biggest considerations that all children will have to make would be choosing the costume that they want to wear. When looking for a costume for Halloween, there are many different ways that you can find a costume that your child would want to wear. During the Halloween season, hundreds of Halloween costume and party supply stores will open up in retail malls across the country. These stores typically have hundreds of costume options for men, women, and children of all ages. The costumes that you purchase there generally will come in consolidated and complete packages, which will make the costume finding process quite convenient. However, you will likely find that purchasing a costume in one of these stores could end up being a little bit too expensive. A great option for finding a Halloween costume for your child would be to shop online well before the holidays. One of the main reasons whey Halloween stores charge high prices is that they are able to take advantage of the strong demand that comes during the Halloween season. If you are able to start looking for a costume a few months in advance, you could shop online through internet-based retail stores that sell costumes 12 months per year. These retail stores frequently will sell costumes at just a fraction of the price that you would have to pay through a traditional Halloween store. If you are still not satisfied with the prices or costume options, you could save a lot of money and be able to design your own costume by creating the costume for your child. When creating your own costume, you could either try to recreate a costume sold through a store or create one from scratch. If you wish to create one from scratch, you will be able to find instructions for hundreds of different costume ideas online.

Create Homemade Halloween Bags ?

Halloween is ready made in stores these days. You can have a terrific time just browsing through all of the goodies stores have in their Halloween departments all throughout the season. You'll find that most stores already have an active Halloween department already thriving this season, but if you haven't made it there yet, go take a look. If you're interested in craft ideas, try making a few pirate bags with the favorite little pirate in your life. Pirates are always a popular Halloween costume choice for adults and children. They represent the dark side of Halloween, not supernatural in nature but those monsters that really exist in life. Pirates were sailing the high seas as robbers many years ago and they're still out there. The popular pirate costume is generally the eye-patch, parrot on the arm model, but there are many variations on this theme. Creating functional Halloween trick-or-treat bags can be a blast for kids and parents. You can use your imagination to come up with yours, but it should start with a plain set of Halloween bags. These can be purchased in stores. They're blank bags in different sizes to go with your child's needs on Halloween night. The candy goes in the bag, but the bag itself will be more special since the child gets to create it themselves. You'll need something that is able to draw on the material the bags are made of. In most cases markers will work. Your child will have a great time designing different pirates to go on the Halloween bags, and you can let them use other materials besides markers to spice things up a little. Glitter might work, or glow in the dark markers are great too because the bags will be beautiful and visible at night. Glow-in-the-dark products are one of those products that remain the favorite of children during Halloween season. It also helps to keep them safe on Halloween night because the bags will alert passing vehicles of your child's presence. For a fun Halloween craft, and one that your child can use, too, try making pirate Halloween bags this season. Your child will thank you for it.

Halloween Costume Tips?

Halloween is one of the biggest holidays for children. They will want to wear a great costume to show off to all of their friends. However, it is up to you make sure you child's costume is appropriate and safe. Poor costume choices can lead to your child getting in trouble at school or even hurt. Here are some tips when it comes to Halloween costumes. The first thing you should do is make sure that the Halloween costume your child chooses is appropriate for their age. You don't want something that is going to offend other people. This may seem obvious, but inappropriate costumes are very common. You don't want your child to feel embarrassed if they get called out for having one of these costumes. If you're making a costume at home or buying one in a store, there are certain guidelines you should follow. The first thing you should do is make sure the costume doesn't contain anything that might be harmful to your child or other children. Any prop your child's costume has should be made of something flexible so that it cannot cause any harm. Any paint or makeup should not contain anything toxic. Also, any materials used in your child's costume should be flame resistant. In addition to those basic safety guidelines, you also have to make sure the costume works for your child. If the costume has a mask, you want to make sure your child can see and breathe without any issues. All costumes should be far enough off of the ground so that your child doesn't wind up tripping and getting hurt. Also, make sure your child is comfortable in their costume. You don't want them to feel too hot or have any problems walking. After you have the costume selected and ready, make sure it works for Halloween night. If it is dark when your child is trick-or-treating, use some reflective tape so that people can see them. Also, make sure you child is protected against the weather. They should always carry a coat with them in case it gets cold.

Making a Butterfly Costume for Halloween?

When dressing your child up for Halloween, it can be difficult to find a good costume that looks presentable and one that you know they will love. For little girls, there is probably nothing more magical than dressing up as a cute butterfly. Butterfly costumes are also very easy to make and buy because they are so popular in the Halloween world. If you choose to buy this particular costume, you can visit your local Halloween supply store to get an outfit that is in your daughter's size. It is important that your child try the outfit on first before you spend the money on it. Halloween costumes are made in a different material that stretches easily. Because of this, your daughter may need a smaller size than what they would normally buy. If you choose to make the costume at home, you will be amazed at the amount of ideas you can find online. The Internet is home to thousands of Halloween costume ideas and DIY crafts. Because of this, you can easily find instructions on how to make your very own butterfly costume right at home for your child. In many cases, the base of the costume is a regular ballet leotard that is in a bright, neon color. You can make the wings using wire, mesh, and glitter to give the outfit some sparkle. For additional ideas, be sure to conduct a search online to find out how to make your own butterfly outfit from home. Halloween should be a time when your child has fun and enjoys themselves while trick-or-treating. When your child wears an uncomfortable costume, there is less chance that they will truly have fun on this frighteningly ghoulish holiday. Always ensure that the costume you purchased or made fits your daughter well so that they can truly appreciate the way they look on Halloween. If the weather is going to be cold, it is also a good idea to layer the costume or incorporate woolen tights into the mix. Your daughter will really love this great holiday when she knows that her costume is comfortable and pretty for all of her friends to admire.
