There are basically two types of Alcoholism, alcohol abuse and alcohol dependency. Depending on the type, the traits in an alcoholic may vary. But in general, any alcoholic may suffer from anxiety, impulsive nature, high frustration and low concentration levels and problems at work and in relationships.
1. They develop the phenomena of craving. Once they start ingest any form of alcohol they physically cannot stop.
2. Scheduled drinking, say like, start drinking the same time every day. Once a week, Once a month and cannot steer away from that.

Two alcoholics can raise a baby by taking care of the child's needs. If you know of two alcoholics with a child, you could try and help to get them to AA meetings. Without the impairment of alcohol they could do more with the child.
