He won the Copley Medal in 1732. He was the second person ever to be given that award. It was a very prestigious award, and given yearly for outstanding achivevments in any branch of science.

The only reward listed in Benjamin Franklin's online biographies is the Copley Medal he received in 1753. It was awarded to him for his work on electricity. Even though he apparently didn't receive a lot of awards such as trophies and plaques, his intelligence and hard work did not go unnoticed as evidenced by the fact that he was presented with several honorary degrees. One of them was a doctorate bestowed upon him by St. Andrews.

Franklin was a member of the learned societies of many nations. Among these were the Royal Society, which awarded him its prestigious Copley medal for his work in electricity (1753); and the American Philosophical Society, of which he was a founder. He received several honorary degrees, including a doctorate from St. Andrews.
