Heart muscles contracts to make a heart beat. This squeezes the blood through vessels called arteries. The blood in arteries is under pressure. The blood needs to be under pressure so it can reach all parts of the body. This is important, because the blood carries food and oxygen to cells all around the body.

In which part of the circulatory system does the greatest pressure drop occur?

The greatest pressure drop in the circulatory system occurs in the arterioles. Arterioles are small, muscular blood vessels that regulate blood flow and control blood pressure. As blood travels from the arteries to the capillaries, the arterioles cause a significant decrease in pressure to ensure proper exchange of nutrients and waste between the blood and tissues.

Do birds have single or double circulatory systems?

In a single circulatory system blood is pumped from the heart to the gas exchange organ and the to the rest of the body. In a single circulatory system low blood pressure is maintained. Blood travels to organs more slowly. In a double circulatory system blood is pumped from the heart to the gas exchange organ and again to the heart and from the heart the blood is pumped to the rest of the body. In a double circulatory system high blood pressure is maintained as blood must be pumped at a faster rate to the parts of the body. blood travels more faster to organs Animals with single circulatory systems, e.g:Fish Animals with double circulatory systems, e.g:Humans
