Bedbugs bite you and suck your blood while you are in your bed asleepduring the night while it is dark and usually when you are in the deepest sleep. One or more bedbugs will come out of their hiding places, which are always somewhere in or near your bed and will come to where you are, crawl along the sheet and climb on to your body and find a part of your body, usually your arm or leg to start their meal of you.

Before piercing your skin and starting to suck they inject an anesthetic fluid into you and a chemical to make your blood come out very slowly. They then insert a tiny tube into you and once installed, each bedbug on you starts pumping out your blood. Because of the anesthetic effect. while each bedbug is on you having its meal you will not usually feel a thing even if you wake up. Also because it is usually dark while you are asleep, you will not see them either unless you happened to wake up and switch on the light.

Bed bugs can be kept at bay in mattress with mattress protectors. It also protect you from dust mites.

Bedbugs can do harm to some people in various ways. Although the bedbug itself does not pass on any diseases when sucking a person's blood like mosquitoes or fleas can, some people can be affected in other ways after bedbug visits. Some are allergic to the coagulant bedbugs inject into your bloodstream before they have their blood meal off you, and with some this allergic reaction can cause painful and unsightly rashes to develop all over their body. Other people after a bedbug has had a meal of them find they itch madly, when the numbing effect of the anaesthetic the bedbug injected into them prior to its meal wears off. This can cause an urge to scratch frantically to try to get relief sometimes when still asleep or else after they wake up. This can perhaps lead to them opening unwittingly opening a wound in their limb and then possibly scratching dirt into the wound leading to the possibility of blood poisoning, Another harm can be anaemia, due loss of the haemoglobin in the blood taken away by the bedbugs, which everybody needs to transport oxygen from their lungs to the tissues. In very extreme cases a person sleeping in a very heavily bedbug infested area, this resultant reduced oxygen carrying inside them can lead to fatigue and breathlessness possibly causing headaches, bleeding gums, nose bleeds and increased susceptibility to infections. Bedbugs can also cause some people considerable negative emotional stress and insomnia, so perhaps badly affecting their performance at work in the day time, making them very bad tempered as well perhaps as causing health and safety dangers like proneness to falling asleep while driving or operating dangerous machinery at workplace. But overall the after effect of having bedbugs in bed does vary a lot from person to person. These sorts of nasty problems may affect only the few, whereas there are many who are almost totally unaffected by having bedbugs in their bed.

Secretaria said-Bed Bugs harm human by biting and sucking human skin and flesh because bed bugs eats flesh.

Just C. Urious said- Bedbugs only bite and if you react to Moscitoe bites, you will have to same reaction will bedbugs

Bedbugs feed on human blood...can make you itch alot and make nasty bite marks once they become fool blown on your body. Going to a doctor and getting a lotion which will kill them and treating your home is about your only option available or at least this was my experience.

You can actually see them at times on a light colored sheet or material..I watched one moving on my bed sheet and it made every hair on my body stand up.

When you get them and they have infested your body, you can actually smell a sort of raspberry fragrance that they put off , there are also a couple of other aromas as well but seems like the raspberry is what I kept smelling and I had no fragrance on at all. Also they leave their fecsus which feels like sand all over where ever you have slept and is black in color and when one becomes mature looks like a flea. If you notice any bite marks please have them looked at, for the scratching that they can cause can become very infected in a short amount of time, and you will require medications to counter act an infection.

Can you eat bed bugs?

Not, really. Usually bed-bugs eat wood, and others things related to insects. One good thing to know is that you should always try to keep your furniture & beds clean because these bugs could led to a humans death. _________ Wrong, wrong, and wrong again. Bed bugs eat only blood - human blood is preferred, though they can do fine on birds. With cats, dogs, and other critters it's harder - they're not adapted to clinging to fur, though they'll do it in a pinch. MOST IMPORTANT: They don't transmit diseases, though some people do get bad rashes - but others might not react at all. They don't care about messy or clean; just about proximity to humans.
