RICKETS is a disorder caused y a lack of vitamin D,calcium,or phosphate.
Rickets - bone softening and Osteomalacia - bone thinning (in adults).
Short term it can cause bone problems and improper calcium/phosphorus balance. Long term, it can cause things like cancer, autoimmune disease. It can also cause depression.
Sometimes paleness or depression can be signs of a child lacking vitamin D.
Bones are becoming weak and fragile. Prone to deformity and fractures. Such condition is called Rickets.
The prognoses for correcting vitamin D deficiency, rickets, and osteomalacia are excellent.
Rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults are caused by lack of calcium salts. But more commonly they are the result of deficiency of Vitamin D.
Osteomalacia
Rickets
It is a dietary deficiency disease. It happens when you do not eat the right foods. Not communicable.
Rickets in children and osteomalacia are examples of deficiency diseases due to vitamin deficiency. Scurvy is an example of vitamin C deficiency. Beriberi is an example of vitamin B one deficiency. (Both, wet beriberi and dry beriberi.) Pellagra is an example of Niacin deficiency. Anemia is caused by deficiency of vitamin B 12 and Folic acid. Burning feet syndrome is caused by the deficiency of Pantothenic acid. Night blindness is caused by the deficiency of vitamin A. Kwashiorkor and marasmus are caused by deficiency of proteins and food, respectively. Poverty is caused by deficiency of kindness. Inequality is caused by deficiency of compassion.
'Scurvy' is a disease caused by the lack of vitamin C ,
A deficiency disease in children will often be characterized by defective bone growth. This is a disease that results from lack of Vitamin D and calcium insufficiency.
The most common are:Beriberi, the deficiency of Vitamin B1 (thiamin);Pellagra, the deficiency of Vitamin B3 (niacin);Pernicious anemia, the deficiency of Vitamin B12 (folate);Scurvy, caused by the deficiency of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid);Rickets, the deficency of Vitamin D (calciferol)

Deficiency disease of Vitamin A
You could get a disease called rickets if you have a Vitamin D deficiency.
