Americorps*VISTA pre-service orientation is a three day mandatory training event for all new VISTA members. Other new members from your region will also be in attendance. On your first day you'll fill out travel reimbursement forms, register for the training, get a VISTA polo, and meet your facilitators. VISTA employs outside facilitators to conduct the trainings at PSO. The group you're in will be determined by the colored dot on your name tag. There will be a lot of workshops with these facilitators where you and members in your group talk about poverty, your specific project sites, strategies for your workplans/VADS and your VISTA year, and give you a general introduction to what VISTA is all about. The meals at PSO are usually quite lavish and the hotels are also usually quite nice. Sessions end by about 5pm or so every day so there is plenty of time for socializing or exploring the city you are attending training in. On the very last day you will all be sworn in as VISTA members and then you will travel home to begin work on your project. Have fun! -Indiana VISTA Leader

Most genes contain restrictions sites. Once you've inserted your gene into the vector you use restrictions sites in the gene and the vector to cut the vector into smaller pieces. If the pieces correspond to the pattern you expect for a reverse orientated gene then you know it is in the reverse orientation.
