Deciduous trees and plants are those that lose their leaves seasonally. A deciduous forest would look different depending on the time of year you are viewing it. In the spring and summer, it would look lush and green. In the fall, it would have very colorful foliage as the leaves change, and in the winter, it would be bare.

Forest Stratification simply refers to the different layers of plants in a forest. In a mature forest, one can typically see several distinct layers of vegetation rising.
