Nutmeg or mace are similar, Ginger too...or pumpkin pie spice. Depends if you are allergic and what are you cooking. Cinnamon buns won't taste the same at all, but spice cake or Moroccan style chicken will be great with a substitute.

Cinnamon for Diabetes is believed to control glucose level by nourishing digestive system and effectively support glucose metabolism.

Cardamom tastes a lot like cinnamon but it's more expensive.

Ordinary granulated sugar could substitute for cinnamon sugar but the lack of cinnamon flavor would make a significant difference. Brown sugar would be somewhat more flavorful. However, cinnamon sugar is easily made by combining about a tablespoon ground cinnamon with a cup of sugar.

Sugar is a primary ingredient in cake recipes, and really cannot be replaced with any substitution without changing the resulting product. However, there are artificial sweeteners on the market engineered specifically to replace sugar in baked goods. Some consumers fine the results acceptable while others do not.
