According to medical research, excessive sweating of face and head is believed to be a genetic (heredity) condition and can often occur, with no obvious triggers.

Though this condition is thought to be genetic, some doctors also admit that excessive facial sweating can also be aggravated by other stimulis such as foods, anxiety, medical and emotional issues like stress, depression, fear or anger.

Night sweats can also be caused by your emotions. A worrying, bothersome thought can immediately cause the body to respond with heat and sweat. Sweating is very common among not just women in menopause, but older women in general. My doctor says she see women in the nineties still having hot flashes.
