Most common cause. Bad plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, Bad plugs.
I would give it a GOOD tune-up
a bad coil or plug to be safe change both
What causes misfire 302, 304 and 306
the gun powder ispacked to tightly and the preassure builds up and can cause it to misfire
If the distributor cap, rotor, ignition wires and spark plugs check okay then I would suspect a faulty fuel injector.
what are the possible causes of misfire on number one cylinder in a dodge 2003 ram 4.7 liter engine
Spark plugs
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I BELIEVE if the fuel injector is restricted so that the proper air - fuel mixture is not getting to an engine cylinder , that an engine cylinder misfire can occur ( that is only one of the causes of an engine cylinder misfire )
With multiple misfires originating from the same coil pack, my guess would be to replace the driver's side coil pack.
It could be out of time. It could be connected to the wrong plug in on the distributor. Check your wires for breaks in them.
That would be that there isn't enough gas getting to them
Cylinder misfire. Possibly failed or failing engine mounts.
a bad wire or a bad coil to cylinder 5.
