no prayer or ten commandments in school
Answer
Teens are individuals who are allowed to make choices: just as you cannot protect them from everything, you have to count on them to make good choices in life--and the freedom to do so. It is always the nature vs nurture theory as to why some people choose a violent life over a more common teen lifestyle of school and sports. I think that the violent ones are trying to get the basics of love and companionship without considering the other people they harm along the way.
Just as terrorists and other peoples involved in Civil wars (Irish vs English; Serbians vs Bosnians; vikings vs anglo saxons etc.) don't consider the other people worth consideration, violent teens are into it for their own reasons.
One consequence is that they can end up with a felony record at a young age, which affects their personal and working life for years forward. Ride an inner city bus and see the results of these decisions.
The main causes of "Teen Violence" Is problems at home, drugs and many times because one of the people involved has been holding a grudge, And they dont have any other way to let it out.
In most cases teen violence happens because of the things that they have seen in their lives. Examples are that they see it at home, in video games, on television, being bullied, or on the street. Teen violence also happens when someone is frustrated when they have a learning disability.
