He is a busy sort of person, always getting things done and making sure they are done right. he was taught by his father that complaining and idleness were not to be tolerated and as he graduated from governor to presidency, he kept that thought with him. So to sum it all up: he was determined, sometimes tender, a leader, and devoted to his work. Even though he's a good guy, he does have his faults, he had a major problem with being able to give up his crown and he did sometimes have a bit of a temper. also, he can never stay in one place, he is constantly moving around, which makes him an unsettling person. Even with these faults though, his wisdom is vast.

In a word, ego. TR's father told him he would become the greatest person who ever lived. By age 10, he was an expert on birds, and he would tell you so. A shameless self-promoter, his own myth about what he did with the Roughriders -- they didn't actually have horses -- during the Spanish-American War was debunked and an application for his Medal of Honor was denied. He then got elected New York governor, but the N.Y. Republican Party bosses found him uncontrollable and begged the national Republicans to get him out of Albany by pairing him with President McKinley in the 1900 presidential election. They win that election, but the next year McKinley is assassinated and, by a stroke of luck, Teddy Roosevelt becomes president at age 42. He starts national parks -- probably to protect the birds -- wins the Nobel Peace Prize for brokering peace talks between Russia and Japan, and gets the Panama Canal project started, although he first had to meddle in Colombia's internal affairs to do it. He does get a lot done as president, and he tells people that. After the White House, he misses being everyone's center of attention and runs again in 1912 in a party that's all about himself. In his final years, TR is a rather pathetic figure, walking the beach and lecturing about the birds there to his grandchildren, who seem to be the only ones willing to listen. Teddy Roosevelt isn't in the original plan for Mount Rushmore, but President Calvin Coolidge insists that there be two Republicans (Lincoln and someone else) to the one Democrat (Jefferson). So TR gets lucky again, this time after he's dead.
