Hatched nits are clear or white, and the live ones are a darker color such as tan, black, or brown. You can also tell by popping them, if you can pop the egg it's alive! If it doesn't op or there's nothin in it then they are simply hatched. Use lice ice, nix, coconut shampoo, and vinegar also works. Nasty things they are

The color of Head Lice is mainly black. Lice Eggs are a clear color but when the eggs are ready to hatch, they turn dark brown.

When they have a lice growing inside them, they appear either brown or dark green. However, when they are dead or empty (for the most part) they are white or translucent. Hope that helps. =)

If a nit (louse egg) is dead, or hatched it is white, as it's just the remaining shell.

They are a browny blacky black in the Middle and bworn on the legs and there a size of a fly horibble things Hope this helps!
