I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Do you mean the companies (game publishers) that make the consoles and a lot of the games? In that case it's Sony-Playstation

those being the main ones, but not all of them. The difference between Publishers and Developers is Publishers make their own console and software for the consoles whereas developers make software for consoles made by publishers. Some developers e.g. Sega and Atari used to make consoles but have since become developers.

The way your question was phrased made it sound as if only one company made games, but in fact there is many of them. If you are already a gamer, I apologise as this whole answer will sound VERY patroising

It is an age of first person shooters; Halo Reach, The call of duty franchise, Killzone 3, The Battlefield Series.

Alot of 3rd person shooters are also gaining populatrity including: The Uncharted Series, Grand Theft Auto IV, Red Dead Redemption etc.
