The area of the world located between Asia, Europe, and Africa is generally referred to as the Middle East and includes such famous countries as Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

Usually there is no empty space. The border crossing is right ON the border. Once you cross the border you are in the other country. In Europe today there are no borders since the creation of the European Union. In the 1970's I crossed into Italy from Austria and there was a border then, but it was a simple matter of going across.
Europe does not have a parliament as such. Europe consists of over 50 countries, each of which has its own Parliament. There is an organisation called the European Union, which has 28 of Europe's countries as members. It has a parliament which is simply known as the European Parliament.
