The first step to becoming a radiologist once you have completed high school is under graduate school. This is the first part of college that you will be required to attend and is often referred to as pre-med. The final academic step to becoming a radiologist is to complete four years of medical school. The first two years of this will be spent in the classroom and laboratory studying a variety of subjects. Once you have complete all of these educational requirements becoming a radiologist means that you will still have to complete another five years of residency. This is a very demanding time however must be completed before you can become certified. In addition to these years of residency, you will also be required to complete a variety of tests to receive such certification. The order of these tests will most often be based on the specific specialty that you have chosen.
