However, it couldn't partake in this movement to to internal division caused by the ideals of nationalism. Austrio-Hungary would instead aid Germany by taking Asian Colonies such as Tsingtao. Austrio-Hungary eventually began their own Imperialism in 1914 by declaring war on Serbia, but that started WW1. Austrio-Hungary picked the wrong country to expand.
