President Roosevelt, historians say, was responsible for the salvation of the Western world as we know it now; free, democratic and peaceful. He was responsible for getting the majority of the US forces over to the European Theater to defeat Hitler. He met with the leaders of the Allied Forces to plan the Normandy invasion. He helped the allies to get the supplies they needed and the troops. He was responsible for getting the Manhattan Project started. He worked himself to death working hard both at home and overseas during the war. Winston Churchill was brilliant to come over to the USA and speak to the Congress. He was able to persuade them after FDR had worked to hard to persuade them himself. It was too bad FDR did not live to see the end of the war.
