It made a great contribution to the cause of Irish indepedence because of the stupidity of the British. The rising itself was not that successful, it didn't have the support of the populace (who initially booed the rebels)and the firepower of the British gave them a sure victory. However, their brutal reaction - 64 rebels and 300 civilians were killed in the action and then they executed 15 rebels by firing squad. Including one, James Connolly, who had already been shot and who was carried out and tied to a chair to be executed. Within days the country was in uproar and independence was in the forefront of everybody's mind. In short it resulted in what eventually became the Repubic of Ireland being an independent nation, the creation of Northern Ireland and changing the components of the United Kingdom.

A huge amount. The martyrs that died as a result boosted Sinn Fein's popularity (who were wrongly blamed) from almost nothing to a vast majority. Then in 1919 they created the Dail Eireann, Irelands own Republic government, a hand in the face of the British Crown. The Dail eventually became Irelands 'legitimate' government. The Rising started this chain. Hope this helps! _ everything.check it up on wikipedia.. _ A lot. It was the turning point in events - the event which inspired Irish people to keep on fighting and the event which eventually led to the Republic of Ireland's freedom.

The main effects were to prove once and for all that the Irish could not win a stand-up war against the British and the commencement of the defeat of the British by public opinion - especially Irish, English and U. S. opinion. That commenced with the execution of the leaders of the Rising over a period of days, including carrying the seriously wounded James Connolly to a chair and strapping him in so he could be shot. Finally reaching a high [low] point with the Black & Tans and Auxiliaries, whose conduct even turned the opinion of the ordinary British solider.

The Easter Rising was a complete failure, claiming the lives of nearly 1,000 Irish civilians. As a result, the British government decided to execute all Irsh leaders who signed the Proclomation of the Irish Republic. This was a huge mistake by the Britsh government as the people of Ireland then pitied the deceased Irish leaders and support began to build up for the Irish Republic.
