Because........

They were so rich, many people wanted their stuff more then other civilizations items so they traded easily.

they also built ships from oak and cedar trees and sailed as far as Egypt and syria. there they traded pottery and stone vases for ivory and metals. by 2000 B.C., Minioan ships controlled the eastern Mediterranean Sea. they carried goods to foreign ports and kept the sea secure from pirates. -- Simpletoon310 >:)

The Minoan Civilization traded things with the Lydians. The Lydians gave them coins in return.

Firstly what they traded was practically everything and anything that that they could, the Greeks admired them for this reason- they could take and give to other civilizations without bloodshed, they traded in things called PITHOI'S or large jars, these could be traded along with anything inside of them, wine could be traded, grain, make-up, gold you name it and they could trade it! when you look at the frescos on the walls of their palaces, you can see what they traded and how rich and famous they had got from it because some women who are dressed in gold with make up on and bracelets etc couldn't possibly be working in the farms could they? do you get my point now?
