What the Whites Did

The KKK and other racially prejudiced whites discriminated , harassed , and beat them. Not all whites supported that, though. In fact, some of the Freedom Riders were white. The first group of Freedom Riders was almost evenly split, with 7 Aftrican-Americans and 6 whites. Those whites who beat the Riders singled out white Freedom Riders to beat more severely.
