First of all...you should ask: What different types of forms do drugs come in?

Hmm....EVERY form. Liquid, Solid...and yup....even Gas. They cover all phases of matter.

Think of prescription drugs you've taken:

Cough Syrup- Liquid

Tylenol- Solid (or sometimes liquid)

Albuterol (for Asthma) - Gas (and liquid mixed)

To answer your question, medications come in more than 4 forms. They are as follows.....

Bolus - which means by mouth

Inhaled - breathed into the lungs

Injected - as a solution, suspension, or emulsion (intramuscular, intravenous, intraperitoneal, intraosseous)

Insufflation - snorted in the nose

Orally - as a liquid or solid, that is absorbed through the intestines

Rectally as a suppository - absorbed through the rectum or colon

Sublingually - diffusing into the blood through tissues under the tongue

(example - nitros given to heart attack patients to calm chest pain)

Topically - cream or ointment

Vaginally - suppository primarily to treat vaginal yeast infections

I hope this answers your question. As to which 4 you are looking for I have no idea but these are the ways that medications are administered in the United States of America and as far as I am aware these are the only ways that they are administered.
